Here’s a quick tip for all you job searchers in the digital age: protect your tweets. If you have a personal Twitter account, no matter how benign the content, no one needs to know what you thought about your last Pinkberry or the NYFW crowds, trust me. If you don’t protect your Tweets, and your full name is included anywhere in your Twitter account, if an employer googles your name they might be inundated with your useless musings on life. Especially as a recent grad, or a new professional, your internet presence is most likely meager. Don’t let Twitter eat up your digital impression- because the internet is the new “first impression.” Turn on the “Private” function on Twitter, and rest easy that a potential employer won’t inquire as to why you have such an obsession with Glee. No one wants that.
